sol15 #30: magical morning

This morning was amazing! I organized for the author David Ezra Spinner to come in and share his new book, Weldon Wexford and Murkle Monster to our K-2 classrooms. The book is about Weldon, a wizard kid with a creative imagination. His life is ordinarily boring until he gets a monster named Murkle as a pet to share his adventures with. It's super adorable and the illustrations are out of this world!

David did an interactive read aloud with the kiddos, then let them be creative to make monster masterpieces! It was such a fantastic experience for our students to see a published author in person. Some of our little firsties asked the best questions too!! :)

  1. Having authors visit school is so powerful! Kids take it all in and realize what is possible for them as writers (and illustrators!).
